Science Fair Project Form is due on December 15. Please have these in on time...we have to go through them checking to make sure the project is categorized correctly. This gives us time to get it completed before Christmas! Thanks in advance!
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Wow, can you believe that December is already here? I sure can't! Now, it is time to get in the Christmas spirit...not much time left at school. Three weeks and counting! The next few weeks are going to be hectic, so just hang in there with us!
We celebrated Veteran's Day with our annual ceremony on Friday, November 7. If you have never been to this chapel, you are missing a blessing. Our guest speaker was Mr. Nevin Sledge, one of the few WW11 Veterans still with us today. New Song, 4K, and the boy scouts did a great job with the singing and flags! Please take the time to thank a veteran!
On Wednesday, November 5, we left PDS headed to the American Village in Montevallo, AL. We spent Wednesday night in Pelham, AL, and we headed over to the village on Thursday morning. It was a great trip, and I believe that it was just what the students needed to make their Social Studies book come to life!
Wednesday - Spelling Test (which is every Wednesday)
Thursday - Science Test on Chapter 3D
Swimmers will be gone on Wednesday, so we had to move the Science Test to Thursday. Hopefully, we will get caught up from being busy with the play for the last two weeks!
As most of you know, our play on the 13 Colonies is coming up this Friday! It has been unusually hectic with play practice taking up a portion of our afternoon. So, the students may be bringing home more homework than usual. Look forward to seeing you on Friday and next week returning to normal! Please call Mrs. Garrison or I if you have any questions about the play!
On Friday, September 26, the 5th grade had a biography brunch. They had to tell 5 facts about the person they chose to read about! Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success...the students especially loved the food provided!
Congrats Michael, Lex, and Jackson for getting the first A Math Stars! This is rewarded to the students who receive 100s on A Math Tests! Way to go guys!
This was a project that was started in Science Lab with Mrs. Harmon and finished in our room! They turned out great and helped the students with some of the terms dealing with ecosystems.
Mrs. Garrison had a film strip on Indian Legends. First, they watched the film strip then developed their own legend. Take a minute to stop by and read these!
These are things Mrs. Garrison and I discussed with the parents at Open House. They will go into effect next week, since it will begin the 2nd 6 weeks. They are:
* Choose a biography and be able to tell 5 facts about that person (other than birth and death)
The brunch will be help on Friday, September 26, at 9:30 a.m. in the Westminister Room! Parents, we hope you all can join us for some food and reading fun!
This was a huge success! We had so many grandmothers and some grandfathers too that showed up for the tea! The children did a great job singing, and the grandparents loved it!
